Alidavisart
Welcome to my art site.
I am a North East of England watercolour and pastel artist . I studied art at A level until 1973 (then went into a career of social work, youth support and management until I took early retirement 2011). I didn't paint again until 2002 when I joined Houghton Art Club where I am now secretary. www.houghtonartclub.weebly.com (click on this for link to site).
I am also a member of Hetton Art Club.
I am inspired by the luminescence and strength of Pre Raphaelite colours and the power of Turner skies. I enjoy the fluidity and translucience of watercolour and the flow and speed of pastel. I challenge myself to paint all different subjects but love painting watercolour flowers and pastel landscapes and animals. All my paintings are originals painted either directly from the subject or from photos I have taken of subjects I love,( unless otherwise stated).
I paint as a volunteer at Beamish Museum Pit Village ( in costume with the Beamish Art Group ) the last Sunday of the month and other days in between (very exciting).
